The valve manufacturer Vexve has signed an agreement to acquire the Danish valve manufacturer Frese from the founding family. The company was founded in 1944 and manufactures dynamic balancing valves, among other things.
Frese’s range of dynamic balancing valves enables improved energy efficiency in hydronic networks, such as non-residential buildings and district heating networks – positively contributing to European and global climate goals by reducing excess energy consumption for heating and cooling. The complementary district heating offering will further strengthen Vexve’s position in district heating valves in key geographic regions, particularly in Western Europe.
“We are honoured to combine forces with Frese and its strong team. Frese is a well-known and respected brand in the growing balancing valves industry and will further improve our ability to offer industry-leading products and services to clients of the combined company. We are excited about the opportunities the new combination will provide,” says Paul Gustavsson, CEO of Vexve.
Vexve wants to grow further
Frese’s manufacturing capabilities and product portfolio, together with the company’s position in the Central European markets, will accelerate Vexve’s growth as a provider of critical valve solutions in the transition to a low-carbon future. Combined sales are expected to be approximately EUR 200 million upon completion of the transaction.
“Combining forces with Vexve represents a unique cross-selling opportunity of complementary product portfolios and a presence in adjacent markets with shared supporting trends. We see a highly positive outlook in the balancing valves market and are excited to be joining the Vexve family, enabling full support for continued growth of the strong Frese brand,” says René Barington, CEO of Frese.
The closing of the transaction is subject to the outcome of the formal FDI application process in Denmark and is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2025.
