Built from a series of interchangeable modular building blocks, the CK design can facilitate quick delivery, a benefit that is of great interest to many valvemakers and end-users. The modular construction presents a wide range of options and features, enabling each actuator to precisely match its specific valve duty and function. The choice ranges from basic actuators requiring separate motor controls to sophisticated versions equipped with a state-of-the-art intelligent digital control unit. The digital control unit provides integral control with data logging for diagnostics and asset management. The module is compatible with hardwired, digital or analogue control protocols and offers cost-effective integration with centralised and distributed control systems.
Non-intrusive, password protected configuration is performed using the actuator selector switches or the hand-held Rotork Setting Tool, using infra-red or Bluetooth® interfaces. The display window provides position indication, status and alarms plus user-friendly menu-driven configuration screens. CK actuators provide isolating or modulating operation of multi-turn, part-turn or linear valves. Operating from single-phase or three-phase electrical supplies, all actuators are environmentally sealed to IP68 against an 8 metre head of water for a maximum of 96 hours continuous submersion with 10 electrically powered operations permissible whilst submerged. Plug and socket connections for power supplies and between modules assist swift site wiring and provide a simple connection platform for upgrades and modifications.
CK actuators are manufactured in a range of three frame sizes complying with international actuator design standards EN15714-2 and EN ISO 5210. Manual handwheel operation, designed to standard EN12570, is independent of the motor drive and selected with a lockable hand/auto lever acting on a safe, low speed clutch. All actuator sizes can utilise separate thrust bases, enabling actuators to be removed from the valve without affecting valve position.
The CK Range maximum multi-turn output torque is 10,800 Nm (8,000 lbf. ft), whilst part-turn torque up to 205,600 Nm (151,600 lbf. ft) is achieved in combination with secondary gearboxes. The torque range facilitates reliable operation of valve types and sizes typically found in industries such as power generation and water treatment.
A worldwide network of offices and representatives provides a local source for sales, service and support for the CK range of actuators.
