HEROSE introduces the new Type 01C07 high-pressure shut-off valve for GH₂ transport systems – engineered for maximum tightness and operational safety in applications up to 500 bar. As the hydrogen economy continues to expand worldwide, the demand for safe and efficient transport solutions is growing rapidly. Mobile GH₂ transport systems play a key role in supplying industry, energy providers and hydrogen refuelling stations with gaseous hydrogen.

At the same time, increasing transport capacities require safety-critical components that deliver reliable performance under demanding operating conditions. With the new Type 01C07 high-pressure shut-off valve, HEROSE expands its hydrogen portfolio with a solution specifically developed for these applications.

The high-pressure shut-off valve has been designed for transportable pressure vessels, Multiple Element Gas Containers (MEGCs) and tube trailers and is rated for operating pressures of up to 500 bar.

It complies with EN ISO 10297 (TPED & TPER) and is approved for hydrogen, helium and nitrogen service. Available with either flange or cone connection, the valve can be easily integrated into a wide range of transport system designs.

Reliable hydrogen sealing was the primary focus throughout the development process. The valve has been successfully leak-tested with hydrogen across its entire operating temperature range. Hydrogen-compatible materials and non-metallic sealing elements tested for resistance to explosive decompression ensure a high level of operational safety.

Additional features include an ergonomic handwheel with low operating torque, a clearly visible position indicator and high flow capacity for efficient filling and unloading. Extensive endurance testing, including 10,000 full pressure cycles, confirms its suitability for long-term operation in demanding transport applications.

“The hydrogen market is evolving rapidly, and so are the demands placed on transport solutions. With our new high-pressure shut-off valve, we provide customers with a solution specifically engineered for GH₂ transport systems, combining the highest safety standards with robust design and easy operation.”
Franziska Jänike, Product Manager at HEROSE

The valve was developed in close collaboration with a well-known gas supplier, with the aim of creating a solution that meets the growing requirements of modern hydrogen transport systems.

Following successful validation, the valve is already being used in the first GH₂ transport systems and will also be available to other manufacturers and operators of hydrogen transport solutions.
With the launch of the new high-pressure shut-off valve,

HEROSE continues to strengthen its hydrogen portfolio. The company already offers valves and system solutions for hydrogen production, storage, transport and distribution, supporting customers worldwide in building safe, reliable and future-ready hydrogen infrastructure.
