“Industrial Valves” is the international edition of “IAD – Industriearmaturen & Dichtungstechnik”, the leading trade journal in Germany for more than 30 years. The latest issue is now available to download free of charge.

Hardly any other term shapes the current discussion about the future of industry as much as sustainability. And hardly any other energy source is as central to this change as hydrogen. Both topics are no longer abstract visions, but concrete challenges and opportunities for manufacturing companies – especially in the process industry.

The transition to a greenhouse gas-neutral economy requires new solutions that go far beyond simply increasing efficiency. Green hydrogen, which is produced by electrolysis using renewable electricity, is considered a key element for a climate-friendly energy supply. Not only in the transport sector, but also in the chemical, steel and energy industries. However, the use of this volatile medium brings with it new technical requirements, particularly in terms of infrastructure and plant components.

Valves, actuators and seals play a central role in this. Industrial Valves 02/2025 is dedicated to the two future topics of sustainability and hydrogen – and shows which solutions valve and sealing technology already offers today to make industrial processes safe, efficient and climate-friendly.

Reality check on the hydrogen economy

The international hydrogen economy is developing rapidly, with Europe and Germany playing a leading role in the development of H₂ infrastructure. Experts have been claiming for decades that the H₂ economy is on the verge of a breakthrough. While individual national strategies are providing important impetus, there are also negative headlines. What is the real state of the H₂ ramp-up in mid-2025? In Industrial Valves 02/2025, we take a look at the current state of the industry and international developments: a reality check on the global hydrogen ramp-up.
