Fresh air in Schloß Holte Stuckenbrock. With the help of climate-neutral Scandinavian hydropower Ari Germany has reduced its carbon footprint by more than 50%.
Ari reduced its carbon footprint in Germany from 2174 tonnes of CO₂ equivalents in 2023 to 1029 tonnes in 2024.* Reason: the commissioning of the photovoltaic system at the Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock site with an output of 666 kWp. This has increased the total PV output to over 2 megawatts peak.
CO2 footprint: further commitment
At peak times, almost the entire electricity requirements of the three German production sites are covered by self-generated renewable energy. The switch to sourcing electricity from climate-neutral Scandinavian hydropower is the main reason for the reduction in CO₂ emissions.
‘The switch to climate-neutral electricity from Scandinavian hydropower and the commissioning of our largest solar plant at our main site were significant milestones on our path to reducing our CO₂ emissions. However, we do not see these successes as the end point, but as an incentive: our commitment to climate protection continues. We are continuously working on identifying further potential for CO₂ reduction and driving forward sustainable solutions in all areas of the company,’ promises Marcel Werner, Head of Business Management at Ari Armaturen Halle.
*Ari Armaturen reports its corporate carbon footprint in Germany in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. The figures include the total emissions from Scope 1 and Scope 2 according to the definition of the GHG Protocol.
